Stamps of Western Thrace PDF Print E-mail
The district of Thrace, on the northern coast of the Aegean, was occupied by Bulgaria at the end of the Balkan Wars but came under Allied control after World War I and eventually passed to Greece. Bulgarian stamps overprinted THRACE INTER-ALLIEE OF THRACE OCCIDENTALE were used in 1919 and 1920. The basic stamp was one of a series released in October 1919 to mark the first anniversary of the accession of Tsar Boris III.
