Stamps of the Italian States PDF Print E-mail
Eight Italian kingdoms, duchies and principalities including the Papacy issued their own stamps prior to the unification of the country in 1861. In four cases, stamps were also issued by provisional governments during the transitional period between the overthrow of the ancient regimes and the absorption of the states into the kingdom of Italy.
