The only irregular polygons were issued by Malta in October 1968 for Christmas. The design shows the Star of Bethlehem and the Angel waking the shepherds. The shape is an irregular pentagon, rectangular on three sides with a raised apex towards the left. The shorter side at the top and the longer side at the bottom were both perforated 14.5 while the other three sides gauge 14. The stamps were issued in sheets of sixty, arranged in ten strips of six, alternately upright and inverted.
