Bipartite Stamps PDF Print E-mail
Bipartite stamps are those which comprise two portions which can be separated and used individually. The earliest example was the 'Double Geneva' of 1843. Each portion could be used as a 5c stamp for local mail, while the whole served as a 10c stamps for cantonal mail. A horizontal band across the top of the two parts signified the 10c value.
